Texas Hold'em is the most popular form of poker in the world. It's the game you see on TV, in casinos, and at home games everywhere. The good news? It's easy to learn but takes a lifetime to master.

Example Hand
Let's walk through a hand:
Your cards: A♠ K♦
The Flop: A♣ 7♥ 2♦
You have a pair of Aces with a King kicker - a strong hand!
The Turn: A♣ 7♥ 2♦ K♠
Now you have two pair (Aces and Kings) - even better!
The River: A♣ 7♥ 2♦ K♠ 3♣
Your final hand is still two pair. This is a strong hand that will win often.
Basic Strategy Tips
Starting Hands
Not all hands are worth playing. Good starting hands include:
- •High pairs (AA, KK, QQ, JJ)
- •High suited cards (AK, AQ, KQ suited)
- •Connected cards (JT, T9 suited)
Position Matters
Acting later gives you more information. Play more hands from late position and fewer from early position.
Don't Play Every Hand
Beginners often play too many hands. Fold weak hands and wait for good opportunities.
Pay Attention
Watch your opponents. How do they bet? When do they fold? This information is valuable.
